It was graduation day for the historians here at Aberystwyth this morning. Whilst I congratulate everyone graduating, I want to specifically congratulate Dr Arddun Hedydd Arwyn.
Dr Arddun started her academic studies here, and has finished it fully today to become a Doctor of History. I can think of no one else more deserving of a PhD than Dr Arddun. Not just because of all the hard work and effort she put into her PhD, but because she always had time to help her lecturers, her peers, her students and her friends.
She has been an amazing presence here in Aberystwyth. As a student, as a researcher and now as a teacher. Lucky old Aberystwyth, and lucky old History.
And for those of us who call her our friend, lucky old us.
